Leadership

I have considerable experience in managing both teams of staff directly reporting to me and ad-hoc groups assembled for specific projects. I enjoy the challenge of managing diverse groups of people and am happy to take on projects outside my "normal" areas of operation. As a leader I aim to empower those reporting to me to maximise their potential and present opportunities for development.

Organisation

I am punctual, well organised, and methodical in my approach to work. I am diligent in project preparation and planning and able to work to deadlines. I am able to delegate tasks to the appropriate team members and ensure that the project remains within schedule and budgets.

Teamwork

I have strong interpersonal skills and am co-operative, diligent and enjoy working in a team. I also aim to encourage the exchange of advice and constructive criticism with colleagues.

Analytical Skills

I have good analytical and problem-solving skills. I pride myself on attention to detail and accuracy. I have a methodical approach to tackling everyday situations whilst being innovative and creative when presented with new challenges and unusual problems.

Project Management

I have extensive experience in managing projects of all sizes covering software development, system implementation, infrastructure development and service development. These projects range from the small scale such as equipment refresh through to whole new build projects covering the entire life-cycle covering everything from initial infrastructure design, through procurement to the implementation.

Most recently I undertook the management of the £1.7 million IT element of a £50 million new build project which was completed on time and on budget.

Budgetary Management

I have excellent budgeting skills, managing a current revenue budget of £2 million and overseeing capital expenditure over the past 5 years of £8 million. I have a wealth of experience in procurement of goods and services, ensuring best value for the organisation. I have managed a range of tenders, including OJEU listed projects.

I have a high level of numeracy and am very experienced in the use of spreadsheets to model business activities. I have a wealth of experience in developing multi-year budget models for both revenue and capital expenditure.

Communication

I have experience of communicating to people at all levels within an organisation and with external partners. I am experienced in presenting complex subject matter in terms easily understood by non-technical audiences. I can produce high-quality, easy to follow reports and presentations.
